I’m Barry Jones, Author of Middle Grade Fantasy & Science Fiction

I’m a 56‑year‑old writer based in the UK, currently working nights as a Security Officer at a major theme park. Before that, I travelled the world with the Merchant Navy aboard ships such as the QE2 and the tall ship Zebu.
But my real adventures began much closer to home — with my grandchildren.

Daisy, Elsie, and later Sidney sparked the storyteller in me. During sleepovers they demanded tales of fairies, elves, hidden pathways, and magical creatures. Their garden notes to imaginary visitors soon became a seven‑book Middle Grade fantasy saga, Incredible Tales from the Seven Realms. Their curiosity reminded me that wonder never really leaves us — sometimes it just needs an invitation.

Hedge’s Tale, the first novel in the series, introduces the Seven Realms: a world where Fairies, Elves, and Humans live apart, unaware that their existence depends on a delicate balance only unity can sustain. Through the journey of Hedge Strongarm, a forest Elf thrust into an extraordinary adventure, the Realms begin to reconnect in surprising and transformative ways.

Imagination is the key that unlocks the Realms we’ve forgotten.
