Incredible Tales from the Seven Realms

 Hi, my name is Barry Ian Jones,  I am a new author with a series of Novels entitled Incredible Tales from The Seven Realms. I am aiming these novels at the Middle Grade market and feel they fit nicely into the fantasy genre akin to The Girl of Ink and Stars by Kiran Millwood Hargrave and The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. The series is set in a world composed of Seven Realms, where Fairies and Elves coexist with Humans however each race harbours a deep-seated fear and mistrust of one another. The First Book in the series, and my debut novel, is entitled Hedge’s Tale and is a fantasy tale of 57,000 words.
Hedge’s Tale sets the scene for the series and introduces the readers to the Realms as a whole. The tale focuses on a number of characters and in particular a forest Elf called Hedge Strongarm, a Fairy called Accacia Willowberry, and two Human Children (Daisy and Elsie) all of whom are thrust together in a journey through the realms that will test their beliefs and emotions to their limits. As the series of books progresses, Hedge and Accacia are drawn, along with the children, into a journey across the realms as they discover that life is far more complex outside the Realms in which they live.
They will battle unforgiving foes, forge new friendships and, race to save their world’s very existence whilst rediscovering a shared history that will ultimately renew old connections between the Realms.
The full series covers six books, each has been mapped out with timelines, plots, chapter notes and cover concepts have been tentatively drawn. The first book - Hedges Tale has been professionally edited by award winning author P.J Hoover (Author of Tut ; The Story of My immortal Life). The second book in the series (A Tale of Realms) the cover of which you can see here, is complete in draft form and I am currently working on the third book in the series
